Detailed Description of Services
Center-based services for Yuba County families with at least one child under the age of 12, services in Spanish available
• FRC Basic Needs Services (i.e. emergency food, small allotment of diapers, CAN referral, clothes)
• FRC Groups: Life Skills, Nurtured Heart Parenting, etc.
• FRC Events: Scrapbooking, Movie and Game Nights, Reading Time, etc.
Home-based services for Yuba County families with at least one child under the age of 12, services in Spanish available
• Family goal and plan development and assistance
• Child development via the Parents as Teachers curriculum
• Linkage and referral to local resources and agencies
• Early developmental skills assessment
• Child health assessment for children zero to five years old
• Healthy Families America trained staff
Please ask if we have interns available to serve families who youngest child is greater than 5 years of age.
Supporting Father Involvement research project for Yuba and Sutter families with at least one child under 12 years of age; currently groups are only available in English
A 32 hour group-based intervention with case management support for co-parenting couples*
Curriculum examines five areas:
1. Individual Adjustment
2. Couple Relationship
3. Skills and Competence as a Parent
4. Impacts of the Larger Community
5. Family of Origin & Culture
• *One participant must be the biological parent of a child under 12 years of age; the other participant can be an identified father or mother figure (e.g. boy/girl friend, grandparent, uncle/aunt, etc.)
• Must be screened, interviewed and assessed prior to group
• Must agree to be part of a research project
• Will be assigned to either an immediate or delayed condition/ couples or fathers only condition
• Each parent figure will receive a stipend for completing three assessment packets, one prior to group ($50) and two following group ($50 and $100)
• Groups are held for 11 weeks, three hours per week
• Groups are led by one male and one female Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFTs)
• Child care is provided each night of group
• A family meal is provided each night of group
• Each family is assigned a case manager for support
